December 7, 2006  Day 451
Since my last entry I have caught two more squirrels and disposed of them further down the road. There
is always the chance that the second squirrel is the same squirrel as the the third squirrrel so this time I
drove ten miles away and across a bridge before letting him/her go. I set up another trap this morning and
will continue to set traps until I run out of squirrels who want to play.
As for the house I was able to finish the front of the house completely and seal the farmers porch roof
with roofing tar. I have also had the oppurntunity to hang some more siding on the north side of the house.
last Sunday I spent the daycleaning up the house, the yard and the barns and preparing the place for
winter. We took our Boothbay house off the market for the month of December and I have turned my
attention to sprucing that place up and spending time with my family for the Holidays. Once January
arrives I will once again return to siding the north side of the house. With this said I will wish you all a
Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Below is the front of this years Christmas card. May your
Holidays be blessed with family, friends and health, the rest will take care of itself.
See you in 2007 and may this be the year we get to move into Cross Point Farm.
Merry Christmas

January 4, 2007  Day 479
I was back to work on Cross Point this evening down in the barn painting some siding which I hope to
install Monday if the weather holds out. I must admit I missed some great weather for working on the house
but I needed to spend time with my family and take a mental break if not a physical break as well.
We had a great Holiday and I hope you did as well. During the break I spent some time working on our
Boothbay Harbor house repainting walls and ceilings, grouting bathrooms and cleaning the basement etc. It
turns out this was a good move because the contract we have had on our house since September 12th fell
through when they could not sell their house. So now once again it is back to ground zero with hopes and
prayers that someone will come along and buy our house so that we may continue this project. The savings
account has lasted longer than I thought however after we pay for the gutters that were installed in
December I will pretty much be at my cut off point. This will leave me with working on areas that do not
require much cash or no cash at all.
So what is planned for the month ahead? First I will continue to side the north side of the house until I am
out of siding and then see if we have saved enough to purchase more siding.Ideally I have enough siding in
the barn right now to finish but I do not think so. After that I will tear down the last two remaining areas of
plaster so to open the stairway from the attic to the first floor and the remove the plaster in my closet that
the electrician busted while running some wires. After that I will start to install the sub flooring in the
kitchen area and then work on installing the central vac system. This should pretty much keep me busy for
the month.Should I finish all this I still have the yard which I can work on and more drilling for the
electrician.
I promised Pattie that I would spend Sundays with her during the winter so my time at the farm will be
limited anyways. Got to keep the wife happy or I can not be happy!
January 15, 2007  Day 490
One year ago at this time I was tearing down plaster walls and thinking if I never have to do this again it
will be too soon. Now here I am tearing down more walls and yes it is way too soon. Luckily I only had
about 5 hours worth and I think it will pay off when the house is finished. To be able to look down from
the attic all the way down to the first floor is really cool. The hard part will be finding someone to match
and continue the railing up from the second floor to the attic without it costing us a fortune.
